Regan's POVIt was just a simple sentence…*We got the gold, but Adrian is wounded.*That was the information I got from Toya. How could I stay still when my right-hand man was dying? I knew it wasn't a simple wound. If it was simple, the three wise men would not have sent Toya."You pathetic fool," I cussed myself as I remained in the chambers unable to do anything. I tried to mind-link the three wise men but it wasn't working. I was too disturbed to even make a connection. I couldn't afford to lose Adrian. While I languished in my misery, I realized my true state. I couldn't even save my man."This is who I am, a victim of circumstances! A relegated, handicapped, and powerless Prince! They should have let me die. Why did you let me live!?" I yelled in agony, almost bolting out of my wheelchair. My eyes were a shade of red. I shook visibly and I couldn't contain my agony."Go away from me!" I yelled as the screeching sound of my door penetrated my ears. Someone was coming in and I
Ashley's POVIt was a new day and I woke up with mixed feelings. I didn't even know how and when I fell asleep last night.Although I was happy that I could shift again, my heart was heavy and filled with dread. I was treading a precarious road of no return.I had succeeded in confusing Allen but it didn't matter because neither Allen nor Prince Logan could have me.For obvious reasons, Allen was paired with my group. Other members of the group avoided us like we were a curse. Eventually, when the tasks were shared, Allen and I were paired to wash together. Allen was still mad at me. He made things difficult for me. He wouldn't even spare me a glance or talk to me. He did not allow me to do any of the tasks and he shunned me every time I tried to start a conversation."Allen… we've got to talk," I finally said when I couldn't take it anymore."We have nothing to talk about," he blurted, snatching a bucket of water from me. He emptied the bucket of water into a basin and began to rin
Maya’s P.O.V, Regan can see the invisible? My eyes shone wide at the realization. “Is this a prank?” I barked angrily, glaring at Zarah as I paced around my condominium. I really hoped the nonsense she’d been spewing was some sort of joke cause if not, then that’ll be a really hard nut to deal with. “My lady, It’s absurd for me to joke with something like this. He even spoke to me.” Zarah affirmed with a mild voice for the umpteenth time and my brows furrowed on their own. The only thing I could do was just stare at Zara. I don’t know if I should be infuriated or frightened by the information I just got from her. Well judging from my sweaty palms, guess I was being agitated. However, after dismissing Zarah, I stopped pacing around and advanced towards the window. I gazed out. The full moon coupled with twinkling bright stars adorned the dark sky as birds were singing through the quiet night but none of it interested me rather my gaze penetrated oblivion trying to process th
Maya’s POV, My feet wobbled as I trudged back to my chambers. I couldn't use the horse, the brutal scenario I’d witnessed at the Dowager's weakened me to my bones. I knew the Dowager was vile but I never really knew to what degree! In as much as I hated being a failure, I wouldn’t want to go through such horrific torture. My determination to step up my game and unravel everything I need to about that pesky Regan became stronger. “And where are you coming back from?” A familiar voice jolted me out of my reverie and that was when I realized I’d not only entered my chambers, but Regan was on my way. Damnit! As usual he’s trapped in his wretched wheelchair, wearing a stoic and fierce expression that just riled me up. “I asked a question...” Regan doled out as I didn’t respond to him. Perhaps I was quite stunned. Has he been waiting for me? As I still didn’t respond, he charged at me insisting that I tell him where I went. Really, I was not in the mood for his shenanigans thi
Regan’s POV A lot ran through my mind as my guard wheeled me back to my chambers. "Take me down to my bedroom," I said in a whisper. Gently, he wheeled me through the corridors until we were standing in front of my bedroom. He opened the door and pushed me in. He rounded up and stood before me, bowing his head. "Get my clutches, they are in my study," I said to him and he left. When he returned he helped me get on the crutches and I limped towards my bed. "You can leave," I said as I sat on the bed. He bowed again and took his leave. As soon as he had left, I jumped to my feet and walked towards the window. My clutches right by my sides ready to be used in case of emergencies. My grip on the window tightened as I bared my teeth to the full moonlight and stars alluring the dark sky. The moon goddess had blessed the night with sufficient breeze yet my skin felt so hot. I was really disturbed. Who the heck was at the grazing range? It was a woman's form and she was invisible.
Ashley's POVLogan dragged me onwards, jerking me on forcefully. Stopping in my tracks I looked back at Allen.Right there on the floor, Allen's gaze pierced into my eyes. One of his arms was pointing at me as Logan dragged me on."How dare you!?" Logan snicker, pushing me into the ground."How dare you!?" He spat, squatting before me. His eyes were on fire, I couldn't look at them. "Since when? You have been playing me, huh!?" He demanded in his alpha tone and I shuddered."My… Prince…""Stop it! Don't you dare call my name!" He roared."You traitor! You knew all the while and you pretended. I must have looked like a joke to you!!!""I…. I,""Bring it on! Say it! You pretentious jerk! Has he kissed you already? Did you allow him!? You disgust me!" He yelled and pulled my chin roughly.Without warning, he smacked his lips on my lips, kissing me roughly. His teeth and tongue ravaged my mouth painfully and I tried to pull away, but he broke the kiss as soon as he started."Isn't that t
REGAN’S POV, Still in my chambers, I sat in my wheelchair staring into space. I was in a vintage position where I had a good view of the royal court.I’d been watching the royals come in horses and proceed into the royal court.Undiluted rage consumed me as the thought that I’d have to meet my foes taunted me.I never knew I was clutching the tumbler in my grip until I took one more sip from it. You wouldn't blame me, I had to settle for liquor to calm my nerves. Although it wasn't working.“My prince, the meeting is about to commence!” Divulged a guard whom I had sent to stalk the courtroom.Without responding, I decided to delay a bit till I finished a full bottle of liquor. “Let’s go!” I commanded the guard when I deemed fit. I let him take charge of the wheels as he drove me away. We were still around my chamber when someone’s voice suddenly got my attention. And without looking, I knew it was Maya. “And where is Prince Regan of Colleen going, huh?” Mockery dripped every bit o
Regan’s POV I gnashed my teeth as I increased the speed of my wheel. It was clear enough that I was useless. I couldn't defend myself or my people. Yes, this isn't me but what is the essence of the prominence held in obscurity? By the time I arrived at my chambers, my vision was red. All the guards knew better than to fly out my way. "Roy! Fetch Tega's body. It's along the lawns that lead to the courtroom. Be careful not to get caught," I ordered one of my guards. "Tega's body? Yes… Yes, My Prince…" he stuttered, widening his eyes. I rode on at a dangerous speed and it was a miracle that I did not fall off the wheelchair. The first place my eyes caught was the racks of alcohol in my living room. I was going crazy and I needed and I needed whatever would dull my pain. Driving towards the towering racks of alcohol, I tried grabbing a bottle but it suddenly became a struggle since my hands couldn’t reach it and while I was at it, a hand came from nowhere to take it out. I looke
