Chapter 81

Ashley's POV

It was the wee hours of the night. I was dressed to look light and ordinary. I had a few of my fighting gear tucked underneath my disguise. I might not need them but they might come in handy.

Shawn was already waiting on the horse at the point of rendezvous. A faint smile painted his face and he dabbed his fingers over his lips as he sighted me.

He rared the horse towards me and stretched his arm out. I scoffed and gripped his arm as he pulled me up on the horse.

Without hesitation, he pulled the reins and the horse galloped away.

The distance to the palace was far, but Shawn rode the horse like a maniac. We made it to the palace before Dawn.

"That was crazy!" I yelled. I dismounted from the horse, coughing hard.

"I feel like throwing up," I complained.

"Common, stop acting up. It's time to go. I will be waiting on the other side. Remember all that you learned. This is just a trial. You can't get caught," he said and I nodded my head as I started running.
