CHAPTER NINETY-TWO - DEFEND THE WIFE AND KIDS

Caleb POV

“Sir, the documents you requested are already here.”

I pulled away from Cassy to answer my assistant, Gordon’s, phone call.

“Okay. Wait for me at the office. I will be there in a while.”

Cassy looked at me after I casually put the phone back in my pocket.

“You have to go.” She told me.

My heart constricted when I detected a hint of longing from her voice. It made me want to stay.

I watched when Cassy stood from the couch and walked nonchalantly to her desk.

She folded her legs and propped one knee on the seat of her swivel chair before carefully scanning the documents on her table, perusing them.

Reluctantly, I pulled my gaze back to look at my watch.

“Yeah. I have to go. I have a meeting in a while. It will be done by lunch.”

“So?” She inquired, still not looking at me.

I smiled. My wife does not want me to go. I thought to myself.

Slowly, I walked until I reached her desk to grab her by the waist before turning her body around to face me.
