Chapter 19. Dying
Even if it came as a wolf, Merry would not fail to recognize who was there. A dashing wolf with gray fur and piercing red eyes was the ruthless Alpha of the entire Wolfspring.
"Albert!" Merry hissed with a tightened jaw.
The woman pulled an arrow and aimed it at the spot between Albert's eyes.
The threat did not intimidate Albert. His piercing eyes scanned the wooden houses behind Merry. He had never seen this place before. The area that he thought was uninhabited turned out to be hiding something completely unexpected. The scent of herbs and wolfsbane was so strong that it pierced the sense of smell. Whatever it was, Albert was very sure that this woman was not just any woman. There was something about this place. Something that made Albert feel like his strength weaker by the minute.
'Who exactly are these people?" Albert thought to himself.
"Back off! This place isn't where you're supposed to be!" ordered Merry.
