*** The living room is empty when I walk past it, marching up the stairs to his office, excited by my idea, I knock once, then twice. When I don’t hear anything, a frown pulls at my lips. I clasped the knob, turn, and push the door open only to come up empty, where’d he go? I step inside, looking around, “Zayne?” I call out his name. Stay the night. I thought about that, tossing from one side of my empty bed to the other until I slept off and when my nightmares dragged me from my sleep, I held his words like a blanket over my heart to chase away the bitter taste of fear. I’m still thinking about it as I walk through the trees in the morning, I wonder what would have happened had I stayed as he asked. “Something troubling you?” I turn to Rachel. We are on our way to our assigned spot south of the territory, when we came in for training this morning, Naya explained we will be moving to the next part of our training, so we were divided into pairs and assigned enforcers to shadow until we learned the ropes. For now, we would be cutting back on the physical aspect of our training and moving on to field experience. We still have to keep up with training though to keep our skills sharp. A gasp leaves my lips and I ach off the bed.I had felt his breath first, light my skin, his scent surrounds me, a hint of rain and amber, his weight presses against the bed, behind me? My back arched to feel more of him. Light fingertips trail down my arm and my side, it slips under the hem of my top. Heat spreads everywhere, from the points of his finger on the soft skin on my belly to my core, to my chest, between my legs, to my curled toes and my fingertips. My eyes traveling around his room, there’s a black jacket draped over the chair by his bed, a crisp white shirt falls untucked from his black pants, he turns fully to face me, I must have caught him in the middle of undressing, Heat floods my cheeks. Zayne smiles at my embarrassment “Come on in” he tugs at the collar of his shirt before going for the cuffs at his wrists, undoing the right one then the left one. A light clicking sounds as he throws his cuff links on the bedside table. I release a breath as I enter the room fully, closing the door behind me silently. Last night I woke up sometime to zayne crawling back into bed. I called out his name sleepily trying to wake up fully. But he only dropped a kiss in my shoulder and said “sleep, it’s still late” then wrapped him arms around me from behind. Like he ordered. I snuggled into him and went back to sleep. He was gone by the time I woke up. Right now I’m enjoying a leisure walk in the woods. It’s being a while since I shifted and there’s no need for me to be cautious anymore so I opted to enjoy a few hours on four legs, feeling the breeze in my fur, chasing the wind on my tongue. I already had a good stretch so now I’m content to walk, nearing the trees I kept my clothes before shifting , I jumped over a fallen log, landing on my paws then yelped at the growl behind. I’m leaning against a tree daydreaming of the afternoon before. It was one nice, peaceful, perfect. Zayne made another call to the alpha of Ice moon pack, their conversation more serious, discussing the werewolf council and the blacklisting. I was surprised Zayne was still able to consult other parks even with the situation. Afterwards he took me back to the house and we had dinner, just the two of us. He told me about how Ice moon and dark woods has been allies since their inception centuries ago. Though he kept insisting he and Mars weren’t friends. I was already feeling sleepy by the time we cleared the table and cleaned the dishes. I’m already doing push ups by the time the sun comes up. Sweat drips down my body as I lower down until my chin almost touches the wooden floors of my room before pushing back up.When the trembling left my body as I woke up from my blood scenting nightmare, so did all drops of sleep in my blood.But I felt somewhat fired up, left over Adrenaline from engaging in compact even in my dreams.
