*** The living room is empty when I walk past it, marching up the stairs to his office, excited by my idea, I knock once, then twice. When I don’t hear anything, a frown pulls at my lips. I clasped the knob, turn, and push the door open only to come up empty, where’d he go? I step inside, looking around, “Zayne?” I call out his name. When silence greets me, I roll my eyes in frustration, it’s not like he is invisible or something. Clearly, he's not here. Shit. Backing away, I hurry downstairs to the kitchen, Emma is holding a broom in the middle of tidying. “Hi, Emma” I greet “I’m sorry, do you know where Zayne might be? He’s not in his office” I indicated behind me using my thumb. She gives me a once over, a wide knowing smile appearing on her lips, her hair in its signature bun, a smooth wooden pin holding it in place. “I’m not sure, he could be in a meeting or just making rounds at this time” Shit. I clasp my hands together, “Is it okay if I waited here for him?” “
Stay the night. I thought about that, tossing from one side of my empty bed to the other until I slept off and when my nightmares dragged me from my sleep, I held his words like a blanket over my heart to chase away the bitter taste of fear. I’m still thinking about it as I walk through the trees in the morning, I wonder what would have happened had I stayed as he asked. “Something troubling you?” I turn to Rachel. We are on our way to our assigned spot south of the territory, when we came in for training this morning, Naya explained we will be moving to the next part of our training, so we were divided into pairs and assigned enforcers to shadow until we learned the ropes. For now, we would be cutting back on the physical aspect of our training and moving on to field experience. We still have to keep up with training though to keep our skills sharp. Micha and I are together with Sky, while Rachel and Matt are with Eli. But it’s close enough so we’re walking there together. Oliv
A gasp leaves my lips and I ach off the bed.I had felt his breath first, light my skin, his scent surrounds me, a hint of rain and amber, his weight presses against the bed, behind me? My back arched to feel more of him. Light fingertips trail down my arm and my side, it slips under the hem of my top. Heat spreads everywhere, from the points of his finger on the soft skin on my belly to my core, to my chest, between my legs, to my curled toes and my fingertips. Heat then the light pad of his fingers skim over my hips. My back arch and I roll over unto my back.Soft kisses trail down my front, down my belly and even lower. I tense all over in anticipation.Another soft barely there kiss is placed on the junction between my thighs, I sighed loudly. Where’d my clothes go? Do I care? No. No I do now.I tremble instead, begging. “Please…” the word a soft throaty cry as his tongue dance languidly between my legs. His hand smooths from my hip to my thigh as he holds me down to the bed,
He turns a little from the closet when I barge in, his dark hair rumpled. “Oh,” I stumble, my fingers tightening around the knob. “Sorry, I heard you were back, I wanted to say hi” I mummured shipishly. My eyes traveling around his room, there’s a black jacket draped over the chair by his bed, a crisp white shirt falls untucked from his black pants, he turns fully to face me, I must have caught him in the middle of undressing, Heat floods my cheeks. Zayne smiles at my embarrassment “Come on in” he tugs at the collar of his shirt before going for the cuffs at his wrists, undoing the right one then the left one. A light clicking sounds as he throws his cuff links on the bedside table. I release a breath as I enter the room fully, closing the door behind me silently. His fingers go to the little buttons in his shirt. He has shrugs of his shirt, tossing it to join his jacket on the chair as I close the distance between us. I notice he is looking a little tired, there’s a scruff in
Last night I woke up sometime to zayne crawling back into bed. I called out his name sleepily trying to wake up fully. But he only dropped a kiss in my shoulder and said “sleep, it’s still late” then wrapped him arms around me from behind. Like he ordered. I snuggled into him and went back to sleep. He was gone by the time I woke up. Right now I’m enjoying a leisure walk in the woods. It’s being a while since I shifted and there’s no need for me to be cautious anymore so I opted to enjoy a few hours on four legs, feeling the breeze in my fur, chasing the wind on my tongue. I already had a good stretch so now I’m content to walk, nearing the trees I kept my clothes before shifting , I jumped over a fallen log, landing on my paws then yelped at the growl behind. I spin around, so swift even in my haste, then I take not one but two steps back at the giant black wolf now in front of me. A male from its size, dominant from the air around him, the stillness from his stance, silver
I’m leaning against a tree daydreaming of the afternoon before. It was one nice, peaceful, perfect. Zayne made another call to the alpha of Ice moon pack, their conversation more serious, discussing the werewolf council and the blacklisting. I was surprised Zayne was still able to consult other parks even with the situation. Afterwards he took me back to the house and we had dinner, just the two of us. He told me about how Ice moon and dark woods has been allies since their inception centuries ago. Though he kept insisting he and Mars weren’t friends. I was already feeling sleepy by the time we cleared the table and cleaned the dishes. I tried to shake off the sleepiness, so I can spend more time with him but I’d already conditioned my body to sleeping early after training each day. By the time he led me up the stairs and to his room I was already asleep. Either way, it was the best- The sound of crushed roots draws my attention. Did Micah move? He’s meant to be- I sniff at the
I’m already doing push ups by the time the sun comes up. Sweat drips down my body as I lower down until my chin almost touches the wooden floors of my room before pushing back up.When the trembling left my body as I woke up from my blood scenting nightmare, so did all drops of sleep in my blood. But I felt somewhat fired up, left over Adrenaline from engaging in compact even in my dreams. I needed to to something with it, hence the work out.Soon enough it’ll be time for training. I finish my final set and only manage to roll on my back as strength leaves my arms. Sucking in gasps of air into my lungs.Ah Goddess, what I’d give to stop seeing the acolytes in my dreams. I wish as I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand.I roll to my feet ignoring the soreness in my belly muscles as I practically crawl to the bathroom.I’m feeling a little better when I dress up and head downstairs for training. At the arena, my eyes go in search of Micah, he gives me a nod then walks to the ot
It’s cold, and dark… I know this day. I could never forget this day. I’m back home, Sacred heart pack. And there are bodies everywhere, the ground is soaked with blood, the air thick with the scent, I taste it on my tongue. They’re all dead. All of them. I hear a blood curling scream as Lily runs into her home, more screams follow. Unbelieving. Shattered. Heartbreaking. Run, I tell myself but my legs are not mine to command, it moves me foward, closer to the body missing parts, slashes from claws, a breath excapes my lips, i see Martha, our pack healer, old Josefby the willow tree he likes to sit under, eyes closed with his chest ripped open. Senior enforcer Stefan. Dead. In the middle of the street. Just dead. Gutted. Luna Cecil, ripped to pieces, I only recognize her form the arburn hair sticking out of a bloody pink sweater. My eyes keep moving over one body to the other, the next more wretched then the last. A feeling of certain… wrongness claws at my senses. I c
