Chapter 74

For three consecutive days, Calla heard no news from Mercer. She couldn't help but miss him.

At the end of the third day, she couldn't hold herself back and sent him a text. She was worried that a call would affect his work and rest.

However, half a day had passed without any response. Calla guessed that he was too busy, or perhaps he didn't have time to check his texts.

Thankfully, Calla had been too busy to overthink it. She kept heading out to buy things and frequently had products delivered to the house. While fluttering around, she'd tossed Mercer to the back of her mind.

However, the nights seemed to stretch on forever. She would toss and turn in bed thinking of him. Yet, she wouldn't admit it—even to herself.

She only thought that sleep evaded her as a result of her pregnancy symptoms. That was also why he kept popping up in her dreams.

The next morning, the bell rang and Calla rushed over to open it.
