Julia POV

When I woke up in the morning, there was an absence of familiar faces, replaced by new ones who now inhabited the mansion. Although their presence brought some life to the surroundings, it still felt like I was trapped in a dark room. They merely greeted me and went about their assigned tasks.

"Where is Rusella?" I asked Marco, who had brought the tray of lunch as I had requested to eat in my room. What’s the point of eating on the big table?

"She had some work, so she went to the city. She said she'll be back by dinner time," Marco replied, placing the tray in front of me. I sighed and began to eat my food. Everyone seemed to have something to occupy themselves with, leaving me alone.

Now, I had a genuine reason to distance myself from them. But what hurt me the most was that she had lied to me. Luca knew about my father. I had to escape from this place as quickly as possible. I can’t risk my life.
