Chapter 24: Ladies First

Alyssa's POV

I stirred in my sleep and groaned, then I heard distant murmuring.

I groggily opened my eyes and saw Lucas at the door. He was just in his singlet, I saw him collecting some things before closing the door.

I instantly closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep. I dreamt about saving the couple, the thought of it alone was making me feel giddy.

'I saved them,’ I giggled silently.

I felt the bed dipped and I closed my eyes tightly. I felt him removing the duvet from my head and I released it to see what he was going to do.

“Wake up, shorty,” he didn't touch me and only said that. He repeated it and I turned, trying to make it look believable.

“It's morning already,” his voice sounded deep and husky. I felt butterflies in my stomach and I don't know when I began blushing.

“Geez! You are running a fever,” he touched my forehead and was about to leave the bed when I suddenly got up.
