Chapter 33: Advice and Blackmail

This morning I could sense a shift in the atmosphere for one reason, and one reason alone. Davien had instructed me to head to the office alone with Christian, whilst he said he would be driving himself to work from now onwards. I couldn’t tell if he was trying to keep up this façade of us not actually living together or he was still mad at me for what I said to him the other day. It was probably the latter.

After the lunch with Giorgia, where I was all fake smiles and forced laughs, we barely interacted. He mostly kept to himself, and I only saw him during mealtimes. This morning, I made breakfast for the both of us, but he hadn’t come down and instead sent me a text message to go on to work. An effing text message! Can you believe that? We were under the same roof and yet he found it sensible to communicate via texts. It was both childish and unbelievable, that the entire car ride to work I was basically fuming.
