Davien stood up, seemingly stunned by the presence of the woman and when he went over to give her huge hug, Miranda was taken aback.

“Chloe!” he gushed and spun her around, making Miranda’s eyes widen as well. What the actual hell? “Oh my gosh, look at you! You look amazing. How long has it been?”

Chloe, who was dressed in a white crop top showing off her four pack abs and a pair of ripped denim jeans with white Timberlands smiled affectionately at Davien, even cupping his face. “Nine years, if my memory serves me well. It’s so good to see you, D,” she pronounced in a thick and aristocratic British accent, stroking his cheeks with her thumbs.

Something like a needle pierced Miranda’s chest and a surge of jealousy so potent almost made her stumble back. Christian came to her side and deposited the gift she had bought for D’Alessandro in her arms. “If you need me, I’ll be just around the corner,” he whispered in her ear before disappearing all together.
