Everyone gaped disbelievingly at Chase. He had thrown the angry old man and his granddaughter, Natalie into a surprising shock.

"Why?" Natalie was the first to recover from the shock. She glared disbelievingly at Chase who simply shrugged.

"She takes care of my daughter, something you would not be able to do, that is reason enough" He replied, staring straight at Natalie's grandfather, his words directed at Natalie.

Hailey could not believe Chase actually stood up for her. She had half expected him to agree to the dictates of the old man, considering he had actually wronged his granddaughter.
