Five years later Kathleen works at Knight investment corporation as a personal assistant to Jason Knight the CEO of Knight investment corporation. Kathleen was lucky to get the job but never knew how difficult it will untill when she started. Kathleen has always want to be in good terms with Jason but Jason on the other hand never gives Kathleen the opportunity to prove herself, he snaps at her on every little mistake, complains of her work, makes her work her ass out and lot more. Kathleen has been working for Jason for over two months and she wishes she could quit but he pays her twice the salary she received from other companies she had worked for. Kathleen was working in her office, summarizing some documents for the next meeting. "Hey kath." Hannah Ash, her co-worker called as she entered her office. "Here are the files from marketing department which need Mr Knight signatures." "Ohh no I can't, I am busy with some documents, why can't you be the one to get to his signature on the files." Hannah held up her hands in disagreement. "Not me Kath, I can't go into that lion's den." Kathleen just stared at her. "look kath" Hannah called for her attention as she sat on the edge of her desk. "I have only two months to work in this company before I leave and I promise myself not to be scolded by Mr Knight even if it means avoiding him for this two months I have left to work in his company." "you're leaving?" Kathleen asked surprisingly. " Yes" Hannah replied. " My fiance got a job in California and he said the company pays him well so he wants me to come join him in California." "That's great news Hannah, congratulations." "Thanks." Hannah was a nice woman who works in marketing department.she is the only person Kathleen likes talking to. " What about Tony?Hannah asked. "I guess he's okay, he went on a business trip" Kathleen murmured enough to be heard. "Really, how long has he been gone?" Hannah asked with pique interest. Kathleen shrugged. "Two months now." "He hasn't texted or called you?" "No. When ever I text him,he doesn't reply or call back and when I asked him why he doesn't reply or call me back, he says he was busy. " And you really think Tony likes you." Hannah asked as she felt concerned. " Yeah.... I mean I know Tony loves me so much" Kathleen said as she convince herself that Tony still has feelings for her. "Okay babe if you say so." Kathleen phone rang out, she dug her hand into her purse to get her phone out. she saw it was a message from Tony so she read the message and smiled. . " That's Tony right?" Hannah asked as she saw the smile on Kathleen face. " Yeah, he is back and wants us to meet for lunch." Kathleen replied smiling. "Really, when?" " Today for lunch." "What? today but you're at work." Hannah said "I will just have to figure out a reason to leave " Kathleen said. Hannah got down from the desk. "Good luck with that, I hope he believes it." she said. "I have to get back to my office before I get caught chatting with you. "Okay."Kathleen said as she watched Hannah leave her office. Few minutes later, Kathleen was done with her work so she took the documents she just finished summarizing and the document Hannah brought to her office with her to Jason's office, on her way there she thought of some reasonable excuses to have lunch outside the company because the rules in the company doesn't permit the employees to have lunch outside the company,the company has it own cafeteria. She entered the elevator to his office floor. Jason's office was the only office on the top floor because he likes his own privacy. when the elevator reached the floor, it opened and she came out and walked to office his door. As she got to Jason's office door, she let out an heavy breath from her mouth, she held the door knob and push forward to enter his exquisitely decorated office. When she entered his office, she saw him busy with his computer. She walked quietly to his desk. " Mr Knight, here is document you asked me to summarize and the document from marketing department which need your signature." Kathleen said as she dropped the document on his desk. "Drop it and get out" Jason said rudely with cold deep voice and his eyes glued on his computer. Kathleen stood there deep in thought, trying to remember the reasonable lie she thought on her way to his office. Jason noticed Kathleen present still standing in front of his desk. " Are you deaf or something, I said get out" He snapped without looking at her. "Mr...si..r...I....uhm" Kathleen stuttered, " My mum is really sick, she is at the hospital and I would like to go and see her. Jason didn't say anything but stayed glued to his computer screen. Kathleen wondered if he didn't hear her. "Uhm.....Mr Knight, I would like to go see my mum at the hospital" Kathleen repeated. Jason diverted his gaze to Kathleen as he sat back on his chair. "Ms snow" Jason began as he frowned. " what did you say happened to your mum?" " uhm... today,her neighbor called me few minutes ago and said my mum was rushed to the hospital after she fainted" Kathleen lied. Jason knows Kathleen was lying but he didn't say anything. The frown turned to a glare, "You asking for my permission to go see her." "Yes sir" Kathleen replied. "Okay you can go,I will call you if I need anything form you." Jason said and went back to what he was doing. "Okay sir" Kathleen said happily as she hid the joy and relief she felt as left his office. " Did he actually believe her mum was at the hospital" she thought and smiled. As soon as she got back to her desk, she took her bag and left. When Kathleen got to the restaurant she texted Tony that she is at the restaurant waiting for him.She took a sit beside transparent glass wall waiting for Tony. "Miss, can I have your order please!? " the waiter asked as he held a menu. Kathleen raised her head to look at the waiter, "Not yet, I am expecting someone to join me." The waiter nodded and left. It's been forty minutes, Kathleen has been waiting for Tony and the waiter kept on coming. " Hello miss, can I have your order now? " A different waiter asked as he stood in front of her table. Kathleen felt really embarrassed and angry at Tony lateness. " I would like a chicken salad sandwich" She finally gave in to the waiter demand as she does not need the food menu to do so. " Yes miss." the waiter said and left. Kathleen glanced at a guy with a neat cut and was putting on a blue coat as he stood at the entrance of the restaurant looking around as if he was looking for someone in the restaurant. when his eyes met with Kathleen, she waved her hand to drag his attention.Tony shot her a smile as he walked towards her. When Kathleen saw him, she happily stood up and gave him a hug. " Tony, I have missed you." Tony didn't replied, he just pulled back and told her to have her seat. They both sat opposite each other. The waiter came with her order and drop it down, " Here is your order miss and sir can I have your order?" "Nothing" Tony replied, "I won't be staying for long." " Okay sir." The waiter said and left. " Are you alright Tony? " Kathleen asked as she noticed Tony's behavior when she told him that she missed him. "Yeah" Tony replied, "Kath, I have something to tell you." " Wait" Kathleen stopped him from going further with what he wants to say. " I got a job as a personal assistant and my boss pays me well." "Congratulations kath." Tony said, "Since when?" "It been two months now" Kathleen said. "I called you the moment I got the job but you didn't pick my call so I thought you will be busy and I decided to wait for you to come back." Tony smiled. "I am sure your boss is lucky to have you as personal assistant." " Yes he is." Kathleen said as she held the sandwich and took a bite. "Ohh you said you have something to say" Kathleen said as she finished chewing the food in her mouth. "Yes about that" Tony said and he brought out an invitation card from his pocket and handed it over to Kathleen. Kathleen took it from him, "Who own the invitation card." "It yours" "Me" "Yeah uhm..... it my wedding invitation card" Tony said with guilt avoiding eye contact with her
