Katie's POV

“Hey, do you want to swim in the lake?” he suddenly suggested with a child-like excitement in his voice.

I turned to look at him, just to see if the man was serious. Did he even know what that sounded like to me?

The mere thought of Killian and I alone in the cold lake wasn't something I had envisioned would happen on this trip. The idea on its own had to be born from insanity and negligence because the weather was saying otherwise.

“You are kidding right?” I sat up. He shook his head. His face was already pale from the cold but he was kind of smiling, a subtle kind that made so much more impact on his well structured face.
