Katie's POV

I jumped in with my panties and white shirt on.

He lied. The water was colder than at night. It creeped up my skin and iced my nerves till my whole body went still. It took a lot of convincing of my feet by my dying lungs as I yearned for the air above the surface. It felt like it would fix my entire life problems right now, which was surviving.

My head broke above the surface and it didn't feel any better. A dash of cool breeze hit me across the face and passed through me like the ghost of the lake. It almost gave me a brain freeze. I dragged in a deep breath, my lungs hurt a bit from the freezing air that was everywhere. It felt like hell. My face muscles trembled as my jaw shook from the insane cold.

“Awesome huh??” He yelled from a distance. I could make his shirtless top peeking out of the water as he perfectly stabilized his body.
