Chapter 69

Killian's POV

Standing in the hallway of Stephen's apartment complex contemplating on the right first words to say to him was something I couldn't blame on the little alcohol I had consumed in one hour. It was a stipulation of the many thought scenarios I have had on what I would miss out on if I didn't fix the damage I made. It has been at least thirty minutes since I arrived at his apartment building and lurked in his hallway but never had the full courage to knock on his door.

I was forced to greet the old lady who had gone back and forth between the elevator and her room twice in search of something she definitely hadn't found. I knew she was getting weary of me from the way she kept staring at my hands as if she was expecting me to pop up with some kind of gun and rob her of her little penny purse.
