“Katy! So glad you could make it!”

I smiled reaching to give the woman a hug. “Hi Mrs. Benson, thanks for having me”

“Naomi, please” she corrected softly and kissed my cheek, with a hand on mine she walked me further into the garden.

When she called earlier this week she said a little get-together so I was expecting a small gathering with maybe fifteen to twenty people. There were at least forty people present and I was early.

The chair arrangements, and the number of trays lined with food and drinks, told me there were more guests to arrive.

“Right this way, Elise will be down any moment, help yourself with food and drinks” someone waves for her attention, an attendant from his uniform.

With an apologetic look she pats my arm, “Give me a moment and I’ll introduce you to everyone but we’re all here to have a good time so feel at home” Naomi gave me another hug and hurried along in the direction of the attendant.
