Chapter 38 Tormented

Their not-so-worthy, cruelly tormented form gratified me a little and gave me an ugly grin.

In this long, narrow basement, we just put two lights. That was enough for me to see their dejected and disenchanted expressions.

I groaned and finally paid attention to John after halting at his chamber; he was heavily breathing, but his face was calm.

The serenity on his face triggered me, and I budged inside his chamber, capturing my fingerprint on the lock system on the right side of the walls near each room.

My next move utterly stunned him as I grabbed his throat and jerked him towards the wall.

"What exactly are you up to?" I didn't leave his neck despite John's challenging remark. His eyes were closed as he tried to absorb the pain I was inflicting on his neck; I didn't want to do it, but I was unable to stop.
