Chapter 08: Aries the Constellation

Joon runs towards Jin’s room with his heavy steps and tells him,

“I saw her, she's coming.”

(Jinan's 7th year of being the Moon Guardian)

Every year, whenever the northern lights of the God of Sky gleams the brightest at night, Aeolus, the God of the skies, invites the Guardians and Gods to his palace. Giving them time to catch up on drinks that his wife, the Goddess of wine and friendship, Dionea makes.

"Oh here goes the most handsome guardian, Jinan of the moon!" Jin looked over at the man who spoke and his men looked at him as well. "I see you came with your friends now."

Only a few of Jin's men come with him on several occasions because some of them just don't want to go out. In particular parties and gatherings like this, he brings his most outgoing and intelligent men. Joon, Hoseok and Jimin.

“Aeolus, it’s been a while.” Jin smiles at him. “How’s everything going with you and Dionea?”

“We’re fine! Still waiting for a baby to come.”  Aeolus says with a bright smile on his face. The sky god had always been famous for having a very light and cheerful personality. That's the same reason why he hosts these parties every year. Just to see his friends over and over again. "How about you? Any female prospects?" Aeolus playfully asks.

Jinan just smiles at him. The other guardians did not know about his curse and why he was selected to become a Guardian. Sure, being selected as a God or a Guardian comes with their own curses but no one is brave enough to breach each other’s contract with Huina.

“No, I’m just not interested in that at the moment. The Moon needs a lot of attention and--”

“Not interested in women? Why? Is there a girl at home waiting for you?” Hadeera, Helios’ wife asks. Jin suddenly smiles at her as he thinks of Lee. She must not be reincarnated yet, but he’ll surely come to her home, head over heels for her again. That day will surely come.

“No. But I know I’m gonna meet her soon and the thought alone makes me happy.”

Hadeera’s eyes widen as she realizes how bright and enchanting Jinan’s smile could be. She is married to one of the brightest stars in the universe yet here she is, looking at the other star that is gloomy but shines just as much as beautiful as the sun. The Moon Guardian.

(Present time)

“You destroyed my working place you little sh*t--” Yoon snarls but the female just shushes him and shrugs at him playfully.

“It’s your fault for placing that cabin on the place where I landed. You should’ve known better, Dog.”

“YOU SCUMBAG, I am not a dog but a wolf--” Yoon was about to come at her when Jinan came out of their mansion with Joon by his side.

“Aries. You came.” Jin says with a smile plastered on his face. "What make you decide to visit us?"

“φύλακας του φεγγαριού.” (dear moon guardian) Aries kneels in front of Jin and says in a serious tone. “I’m afraid that you need to go back, our home has been raided by the Gigantes of the Sun and--” she sneers as she remembers what happened that day. “They tried to take Scorpio with them.”

The Moon has ofcourse a Guardian, stars that serves as his right hand men and constellations that serves as his knights. When they left, Jinan made Aries, the first fire sign among the constellations in charge. She is smart but she’s impulsive and could not think straight when pressured, that’s her only flaw.

Jin’s eyes widened in horror as he looked at Joon in shock.

“They probably took him to get through you. Scorpio is the only knight that knows how to generate your Guardian poison.” Joon says.

“Did you fight back?” Jin asks, hoping that his knights did not touch one of the Sun’s giants, because if they did… This is going to become a huge mess,

“I’m sorry, S-scorpio is one of the youngest knights and.. I--- I can’t let them take him because who knows what they will do to him--”

“Aries, what did you do? what happened?” Jinan asks worriedly. Joon and Yoon just looked at Aries as she confessed what she had done.

“I’m really sorry, φύλακας του φεγγαριού. But I killed the largest Gigante.” she says, staring at her own hands. The orange liquid that she guessed is the giant’s blood still stained her mind. “I didn't mean it, I lost control and before I could realise, he was already dead.”

Yoon, Jin and Namjoon sigh.

“I guess it couldn’t be helped. Aries is the youngest constellation. She must have freaked out.” Namjoon comments.

“No she is just stupid, you know that when you lay even just a finger to a sun creature it’s--” Yoon was cut off by Jin finishing his sentence.

“It’s gonna be a war. Don’t worry Aries. It’s not your fault. They will not come to our home anymore. I’m gonna take it from here.” Jin says as he looks at the blinding rays of the sun.

“What do you mean?” Yoon asks.

“Because they already know that I am not on the Moon and the war will only take place if they see me.” Jin says. “You all should prepare, we never know when the Sun will try to burn us.”

“N-no! You can just give me to them, φύλακας του φεγγαριού. I should pay for my impulsive actions.” Aries says. “You can’t risk this place to become a battle ground, Huina will not be happy.”

“She probably knows that this is coming.” Jin says. “I don’t know why but we cannot do anything but to accept their invitation.”

“You’re gonna die, Jinan. You don’t have any abilities in here and they will surely get the upper hand-” Yoon protests

“They will only get the upper hand if I let them have it and no. That’s not gonna happen, even if I’m inside the body of a Guardian or a human, I will never let you all down.” he smiles.

“I still have a woman to pursue so I’m not gonna die just yet.”

Flynn just ran out of water and she’s currently in a grocery store to buy some. She looks at a hair pin by the female accessories aisle, it looks like a binyeo of Lee’s taste. It is a white jade hairpin with some flowers engraved on it.

"You like these classy things, Lee. Don't you?" she asks herself as if Lee will ever answer her.

She grabs the hairpin anyway and decides to walk at the cash register with it and a gallon of water by her other hand when she hears a familiar voice talking.

“What is that?” The woman asks the tall, fair, young man by her side which is none other than her previous lover and murderer, Jinan Kim.

“It’s a traditional hairpin of this nation, humans call it a binyeo.” Jin says. He is smiling at the younger woman with such cheer that Flynn had never seen before. So he can smile, too? At Least she knows that he’s not a sociopath, like her. Good for him.

She deadpans at them and turns her back to walk away but Jinan manages to grab her by her arm. Making the gallon container fall and break. The water splashed and Flynn’s eyes immediately widened.

“Flynn!”

“Did you see what you just did? Jinan?” She says, looking at him with so much emotion in her eyes. Jinan stepped back. This is the first time her eyes spoke along with her lips. “You broke the water container again! Besides that, how if you slip on it and get unconscious again? Your mother will not be very happy if that happens again!”

Everyone just stares at them.

“Well, it’s not like newly wed couples do not fight over little things on groceries, don’t you think?” Aries chuckles, “you can go, sorry for the commotion in here.” she apologises at the people looking at the two.

Jinan was stunned.

Those words.

Those are definitely the words Lee told him when he broke their water container approximately 700 years ago. She was worried that he would fall and hit his head on the floor since he got unconscious for that reason weeks ago.

Flynn snaps back to reality and realises what she just said. “What did I just say?”

But in a matter of seconds, she was already by Jinan’ss chest, pressed and when she looked at him, he was smiling cheekily at her.

“You remembered such detail, Flynn. I’m just so happy.``Is this what Huina told him? That he is not completely hopeless with breaking the curse that she gave him?

“I guess it couldn’t be helped. No matter how you resist and try to run away from me, You’re mine. You’re bound to the Moon Guardian.”

“No! Let me go!” She tries to resist and get away from him but Jinan is just so tall she can't do anything.

“Flynn, you’re my bride. You’re bound to me and don’t you ever dare to think that you can run from a destiny that had been written long before you were born.”
