Mistaken for a maid

My mind had been plagued with the words the unknown caller spoke.

As much as I tried, I couldn't connect with him. I tried calling his number, but it wasn't reachable.

I secretly asked Miguel if he had somehow given my number to someone, but he claimed he was the only one who had the number.

“Is there anything wrong? Did you get a call from an unknown person?” He tilted his head to the side, with his nose scrunched a bit.

“No. That's not it. I was just wondering if you are the only one who has my number.” I nervously scratched my hair.

There was no way I could tell him about the man without knowing the reason for the call.

“I'm the only one.” He took his phone from the cushion, “I will be back. I need to make a call.” He left me in the parlour and went upstairs. "When I return, we will take a walk in the garden after lunch."

"Okay." I nodded, pleased with his words.

I watched him walk upstairs before I turned to focus on the series I was watching.
