Clara was astounded to find that number of people in their home. Alex never told her they were coming and she just wanted to come down.

“Oh no,” Alex shouted the moment he saw her climbing off the stairs. He then rushed and helped her.

“The Doctor said you needed rest, why are you awake?”

“Sleeping is not the only form of resting,” Clara replied to him. Trying to make him understand that people get tired of sleeping too.

Selene had been looking at Clara maliciously. This was every life that she had prayed for and more, and Clara got it on a platter of gold.

“Can you continue, Mrs. Elizabeth?” Alex redirected at the person confessing before.

Elizabeth had said almost everything needed and she knew that Alex only wanted Clara to hear it all. But right now, she was shameless and without pride. Anything she was doing was to save their fortune. She would fight for this later.
