"Don't tell me that you have never experienced love."

I looked at him in surprise.

"No." He shook his head in bewilderment.

I could understand his confusion.

In reality, he had no idea what love was. I didn't understand why he was so skilled at lust alone and oblivious to other emotions. Were his parents unloving toward him? I wanted to ask him about the photograph I saw in his study room, but I restrained myself.

"Aaron," I began, "unlike other people who eventually judge someone, we do not pass judgment on someone we fall in love with. We do not wish to point out their shortcomings to them. They are who they are, and we accept that. Instead of accusing them, we help them become their best selves by defeating their darker sides."
