Chapter Forty-Five

Scar didn't expect to see Skye at her doorstep, holding flowers and a box of what seemed to be chocolates.

They both stayed in an uncomfortable silence as Scar processed everything, she didn't know what to say after cutting him off without any explanation.

Skye took a few steps toward her until he was in front of her. "Hi Scarlett, I came here because I miss you and wanted to talk to you."

His eyes appeared so sad and bleak that it broke her heart, he swallowed and then continued. "I don't know what I did wrong, or how I offended you but I'm deeply sorry, please Scar forgive me."

Scar felt a pang in her heart, he was apologizing for something he didn't even do, it was heart-wrenching, she should have been the one saying sorry not him.

"Please Sca—," She cut him off before he could finish.

"Skye stop, why are you apologizing? It's not your fault at all." Her voice was filled with so much emotion.

"But—"

"But nothing, I just had a lot of things going on lately, I'm so sorry." Scar
