Chapter Nine

"We run the world; Girls! We run this matter; Girls!!" Kimmie yelled at the top of her voice in an off key tone, wiggling her body like a poisoned earthworm. She had her ear pods on, dancing rigorously to the Beyonce song.

Bella watched in horror at her poor attempt to twerk, tired of seeing her awful display. She walked up to her pulling one of the pods out. "You are such an awful dancer. It's a sore to delicate eyes." Bella pouted, like she would cry.

Huffing and puffing from the mild exercise, Kimmie slumped into the couch. "That would be one of the best dance performance you would ever get to see up close. Wait till I sign up with Beyonce." Kimmie grinned, making a face.

Lettng out a chuckle, Bella sat next to her. "You should get ready. I decided to take a full day off work."

Opening her mouth in surprise, "why would you do that?" Kimmie queried.

Shrugging, Bella responded, "I need to get you some new clothing's and also cheer you up. I know you are just hiding your pain under the facade of not caring."

Kimmie held her breath, she had hoped her emotions wouldn't be so obvious. It had taken every bit of her nerve to not stay in bed and cry.

All through the night she had wailed bitterly and only got to sleep when nature decided on its own. As much as she tried to not think about it, the thoughts keep coming back. Her life hadn't been rosy from the beginning, and she had to experience the most shittiest love life.

If things hadn't gone sour the way it did, for a moment she had thought being loved was how Brian treated her. Having to handle most of his businesses, made her think he really did care about her.

At 26, she couldn't admit to having a fun filled youthful life. It was always one mess to the other. It made her feel very bad.

Flicking her tongue, Bella snapped her fingers in Kimmie's face. "Snap out of it. I know what is running through your mind. But we aren't doing that this morning, so get your ass in the bath." She ordered.

Kimmie snorted, "you act too bossy."

Flipping her hair in style, "yeah I know."

"Silly!" Kimmie noted, laughing.

"Hmmmn, today is sure the perfect day to raid a store." Bella inhaled the outside air, as they stepped out of the apartment building ready for the day.

"How does your insinuation make any sense?" Kimmie said, sounding perplexed.

Bella rolled her eyes at her, "you know just about what to do to ruin philosophical moments."She whined.

"You are just being dramatic, that's all."Kimmie replied.

"Just get in the car already." Bella informed her, as they both got into their seats. Bella got the car on the busy streets of California in no time.

Kimmie stayed silent placing her forehead against the car window. As she watched the hustle and bustle of the never resting city, move past her.

It had been a long while she had a good view of the city. It had always been her mostly in a hurry to run an errand for Brian.

The thoughts of him shoving himself into Kimberly made her heart ache. As much as she tries to act like it's all good. Kimmie can't seem to get her mind off it.

"Kimmie Rosaline Woodrow!" Bella yelled.

Kimmie jolted abruptly, staring wideeyed at Bella. "What was that for?"

"How about you start with the reason you are so lost in thought and having no idea when I turned off the ignition." Said Bella.

Clearing her throat, she shifted. "I am sorry, didn't realize I had gone that far."

Bella sighed, "try not to think so hard and end up growing grey hair. It won't look so good on you."

"I wasn't thinking, bella."

"You are such an awful liar. But I will give you that, and let this slide." Bella rolled her eyes, getting off the car. "Can your highness get off the car now?"

Kimmie chuckled, "do you always have to be so dramatic." She mused, bur gasped loudly when her eyes landed on the clothing store. "This isn't target?"

Folding her arms against her chest, "remind me the sole essence of this shopping again?"

"Get clothes."

"New! Emphasis on New." She rolled her eyes.

"Target clothes aren't bad either." Kimmie insisted.

Bella exhaled loudly, doing a dramatic pose. "I am sorry to say this to you, my friend. Or in sincerity, I am not exactly sorry to tell it to you that. Your wardrobe isn't exactly the nicest."

"I do know that, rubbing it in is really deflating the little ego I have left."

"That is exactly what I intend to achieve. Probably, it would push you to raid this store and make my credit card bleed. And don't you dare say another word."

Dragging Kimmie along with her into the store. Bella didn't give Kimmie much time to change her mind before snatching some clothes off the display rack. Pushed her into the dressing room with each of them.

"Is this a joke, Bella?" Kimmie bellowed from the room.

"Do I look like David Chappelle to you?" Bella retorted. "Get yourself into that dress young woman and let me have a look. My eyes are hungry!"

Kimmie laughed intensely, Bella would never cease to amaze her. Her consistent eagerness to ensure, Kimmie gets better and don't have to worry about a thing; is commendable. Sighing, she wore the first dress her hand touched.

Wearing it, the dress fitted her perfectly. A long slitted wine colored dress, off shoulder with a V- neckline. Completed off with shiny tiny stones. When Kimmie stepped out of the room, Bella gasped loudly.

"If I didn't like the male specie so much, I would get on my knees right now and ask you to marry me. What! You look breathtaking, Mami." Bella screamed.

Kimmie blushed hard, "Can you stop being so dramatic please. It's just a dress."

Snapping her fingers, Bella grinned. "Say whatever it is you want. But, girl! I'm paying for this, even if it costs my life savings. And this exactly what you would be wearing to my company's end of a quarter dinner party."

"Please, tell me I didn't hear you right?"

"You heard me perfectly young lady."

"No, Bella. You would have to excuse me on this one. I don't think I can afford being in the public eye at the moment."

"Awwn, I really wish I have listening ears right now. Nothing is saving your ass from burning this time around, baby. Sorry."

Sighing into resolve, Kimmie slouched. "I don't think I have any actual feelings towards this life of mine." She muttered in frustration.
