96: Her Crush

Cora’s POV

I was impatiently waiting for Nina to return from the bathroom while I flipped the pages of a book I’d reread an unhealthy number of times. As I mouthed the words on a page in a bored tone, I heard someone enter the room but I didn't look up until he was standing right in front of me.

When I rose my face to stare at him, I realized that he had the softest and kindest eyes I’d seen on a man since I arrived at Kai’s Palace, his eyes weren't heavily laden with lust as he looked at the card in his hand and looked back at me with slight lines forming on his forehead in confusion, even his handsomeness was subtle and innocent.
