The sound of chirping birds and crickets could be heard among the darkness and silence of the woods. The air was damp, and I could make out other odd noises reverberating in the distance.

To my surprise, my vision was as clear as day. I could see the woods even though it was dark. My eyes roved around the thick fog of darkness while I wondered what I was here for. Who had summoned me?

However, something more urgent caught my attention. I looked at my legs. They weren't touching the ground. I couldn't feel the thorns and sand in the forest but I was here. I was floating in the air without support.

The more I thought about my present situation, the more I became perplexed. I tried pushing my legs to touch the brittle clay. I couldn't. It was as if I wasn't the one in control, someone was controlling me. Who was and why was I here by midnight?
