Chapter 4

Outside the door, Channing\'s car has arrived.

Suddenly, messy footsteps resounded the hall.

As the gate was pushed open from the outside, a bloated man in police uniform, aged 50 or so, came into view.

Channing strode towards Joey, smiling, stretched out his hand and took the initiative to shake hands with him.

Joey didn\'t get up from his seat and shook hands with Channing.

Channing was polite. After greeting, he took the initiative to ask, \"is Mr. Mead doing well recently?\"

Joey nodded and the color of impatience was already on his face.

Channing wanted to invite Joey into the office, but he refused directly.

Joey looked at his wrist watch and said, \"is there anything else I need to cooperate with? If not, my driver is already on his way.\"

  \"No, No.\" Channing replied with a smile.

  Speaking, Joey\'s mobile phone rang.

He looked down, quickly picked up the phone and spoke, \"yes, Chongshan Road police station... How long will it take?\"

Joey\'s eyes inadvertently swept over Glenda when he was on the phone.

And Glenda directly stretched out her left hand and raised her middle finger towards him.

Seeing that, Joey\'s eyes suddenly forgot that he was still on the phone with the driver

  ……

Within five minutes, Joey had put on his coat and was rushed out of the police station.

Glenda craned her neck and looked out through the transparent glass door of the police station.

Joey got on a black Rolls Royce, while Channing was still bowing and waving behind him.

Glenda turned around and asked Hayden, \"who the hell is this man?\"

\"You’re fucking asking me?\" Hayden looked very angry.

  “……”

Seeing Joey off, another familiar face came to the police station.

When Glenda looked at the visitor, she quickly turned her head and her face sank.

Garry wore a gray tweed coat with snowflakes on his head.

After glancing at the two people in the corner, he turned and walked in with the police.

Hayden turned to Glenda with his elbow and whispered, \"why is your father here?\"

Glenda\'s face was gloomy and she snorted angrily, \"who knows.\"

  ……

About 10 minutes later, Garry came out of the station.

He went to where Glenda and Hayden are, glared at them and said, \"what are you doing? Let\'s go!\"

Hayden smiled and shouted, \"Uncle Gu...\"

Garry ignored him and walked ahead alone.

Glenda put on her coat and dragged along her suitcase.

The father and daughter pair, who had not seen each other for many years, that was how they met.

  Outside the police station,

Garry stood in front of the car, hands on his hips, angry.

Staring at the dejected Glenda in front of him, he angrily said, \"you\'re too brave. You dare to smash anyone\'s car!\"

If they were someone else, Glenda might explain.

But in the face of Garry, she was lazy to explain, and didn\'t even look at him straight in the eye.

Over the years, the father and daughter pair had been like fire and water. Hayden had long been used to it. He hurriedly smiled with him and said, \"Uncle Gu, don\'t be angry. Glenda didn\'t mean to...\"

  \"Shut up, you\'re no better than her!\"

Hayden blinked, the words that were supposed to come to his mouth got swallowed back and could only remain there.

Garry pointed to the two people in front of him and said, \"You were always like this! Ever since you two were young, all you did was cause trouble. You never change. Why don’t you be like Ruby...\"

\"Okay, are you finished? I want to sleep!\" Glenda interrupted when Garry mentioned Ruby.

Garry was stunned for a while. But he had still opened the trunk of the black Mercedes Benz and stretched out his hand to pull Glenda\'s suitcase.

Glenda pulled the suitcase back, turned to Hayden and said, \"didn\'t Aunt prepare a guest room for me? I\'ll sleep at your house tonight...\"

\"You are 20 years old. Do girls know what self-respect is?\" Garry shouted behind her.

Glenda slowly turned her head, stared at Garry and said coldly, \"so you know that I\'m 20 years old? If I remember correctly, didn’t Jackie hang out with you before she was 20? Did you remind her what self-respect is?\"

\"You!\" Garry was furious and trembled all over.

\"How to say, she is also your mother!\" Garry reminded her.

Glenda didn\'t bother to pay attention to him. She pulled the lever of her suitcase and walked towards the taxi parked on the roadside not far away.

Before leaving, she didn\'t forget to look back and said to Garry, \"since you know I don\'t have a quarrel with her, let\'s not waste our energy pretending to be a filial daughter and father. I\'m too lazy to see Jackie\'s smelly face these days!\"

  “……”

Glenda lay in the guest room of Hayden\'s house and slept until 3 p.m.

Han\'s mother is a gentle and virtuous woman. No matter who she speaks to, she always had such warm smiling eyes.

She specially ordered the kitchen to make Glenda\'s favorite durian pastry. Then she turned and went upstairs to wake Glenda up.

Glenda sat on the bed, looking in a little trance.

Han\'s mother stood outside the door and whispered, \"Glenda, Ruby just called. I told her you were still sleeping. Do you want to get up and call her back? She seems to be worried about you...\"

Referring to Ruby, Glenda scratched her hair impatiently.

Even if she was bored, she cleverly promised, \"I know, aunt.\"

Listening to the footsteps of Han\'s mother downstairs, Glenda gets up from bed and went to the bathroom to wash.

  ……

Before the table, Hayden covered his mouth and nose and looked at the durian crisp on the table.

Glenda pulls back her chair and sat on the opposite side.

There are only Glenda and Hayden at the table.

Yawning, Glenda held the fully charged mobile phone.

  There were 13 missed calls.
