Chapter 41

Ezra broke eye contact and looked back at the resignation letter. He finally picked it up and tore it to pieces before throwing it in the trash.

Sarah stared at him, her mouth agape.

He looked up at her and said, "The system you just damaged is worth thousands, so where do you think you are going to get a job to pay off the debt?" he asked.

Sarah kept staring at him, her jaw hanging.

"According to my calculations, you will need to work at least three years for you to pay up," he said. "So in short, your salary will be going directly into my account," he added, and he went on with work.

Sarah grunted; she was caught out of words. She looked away, tempted to kick anything near her or his face.

She began believing the man was mentally unstable. Of all the things she said to him, he only acknowledged her resignation.

She looked away, trying to control her anger.

Ezra's phone rang, it was Penelope.

His jaw tensed, staring at her caller ID. He pushed his phone away and went on with his work
