Chapter 30

Marcus's POV

Throughout the dinner, I clenched my fist tightly, my gaze fixated on Lillian, intentionally avoiding Alexander's face. I knew that if I looked at him, I might lose control.

"I have to go. Thank you for the dinner, Gabriel," Alexander announced, breaking the tension in the room.

I turned my head towards him, our eyes meeting. There was a mocking look in his eyes that infuriated me.

Then, he turned his attention to Lillian.

"My offer is always available, Lillian, in case you change your mind," he said, flashing a smile. My insides boiled as I saw Lillian smile back at him.

He then shifted his gaze to my mother, Victoria, who was looking at him with a smile on her face.

"Good luck with your upcoming wedding. I hope nothing goes wrong," he said, glancing at me before returning his focus to Gabriel.

"Right, Gabriel?" he asked, a sly smile playing on his lips.
