Lillian's POV

I stared at his face intently, memorizing every feature, knowing that time would pass quickly, and I had no idea when I would be able to see him up close again.

And true enough, before I knew it, I was already leaving for London.

"Is this everything you're taking to London, Lillian?" Martha asked as she checked the suitcases I had packed.

I looked at her and nodded.

"I'll take these to the car," she said, and I simply nodded again, letting them handle the luggage.

Once they were all gone, I began calling his number, but he wasn't answering.

"Come on, Marcus, pick up," I pleaded as I paced around my room, waiting for him to answer the call.

"Your father is calling you, Lillian," Martha said as she entered the room.

I looked at her and let out a deep breath.

"He's not answering?" she asked.

A bitter smile formed on my lips, and a heavy feeling settled within me. Unable to bear it any longer, tears cascaded down my face.
