Chapter 49: Arrest Part 1

Luna's eyelids fluttered open, and she was greeted by the sterile white of the hospital room. She groaned as she tried to sit up, but a firm hand on her shoulder gently pushed her back down.

"Easy, Luna. You're safe now," Eddie's voice soothed her, and she turned her head to see him sitting by her bedside.

"Eddie," she croaked, her throat dry. Eddie quickly grabbed a cup of water and helped her take a sip.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, his eyes filled with concern.

"I've been better," Luna replied, managing a weak smile.

Luna's memories of her imprisonment felt very unreal now. Luna didn't think she could see the bright room now that was different from the dark room where she was kept.

"You were held captive for two days by Amelia," Eddie said, his jaw clenched. "But I found you and got you out."
