It felt like I was living in a dreamland. Feeling her body against mine as I woke up was the best thing in the world. I wondered how I had survived for so long without it.

I had held my breath, opened my eyes slowly, scared that if I made any sudden movements. She would disappear. But she didn’t. Even after I opened both my eyes and reached out to touch her soft skin. She stirred, but she didn’t wake up, and she did not disappear.
