Chapter 18

Elaine wasn't back yet when Cassandra got back home with Ryan. She was busy in her work in office. It was late in the evening when she got back. She was pleasantly listening to Ryan's ranting about his time at the park.

Cassandra tried to make up a story when she heard Ryan talking to Elaine about his new good friend and Elaine gave her a questioning look.

But by the end of Ryan's ranting, Elaine didn’t pay much attention to that new friend of his, seeing her so happy son.

As she was tired working all day, keeping eyes glued to the laptop screen to plan the marketing strategy, she called it a day earlier than usual.

Ryan slept peacefully beside her but Elaine got awaken up at some point of the night dreaming about her elevator time with Cannon.

His phone calls, texts and words from earlier kept distracting her that's the reason she took time to complete her work and thus she came back home late today.

She couldn’t allow her to get into his words. Sincere or not, Cannon was late for it.
