Chapter 24

As Elaine left, Sam walked near Cannon, "Let's go now."

Cannon slid in his car only after seeing Elaine getting in a taxi. Leaning against his seat, he closed his eyes. Sam spoke up, "Cannon, let's leave from here. Maybe Elaine.."

"No, Sam. I am not going anywhere. I will try till my last breath if it takes to get Elaine to believe me."

Sam thought Cannon must have forgotten about his meeting with Hamlet in all this. Trying to get Elaine back to him was way far safe than the meeting. Though he wasn’t sure anymore after seeing Cannon like this but still, Hamlet had profound hatred for Cannon.

Proving him wrong, Cannon spoke up, "The meeting with Hamlet, you won’t go with me. I will handle it alone."

Sam stopped the car with a jerk, "No way you are going alone. Get that clear. And here, I was thinking you forgot about that."

Smiling sadly to him, he again shifted to his earlier position, "No, Sam. I promised some people, gave them some hope. I can't go back on my words."
