Meredith's standpoint

"Aaron, are you sure you are okay?" He leaned forward, pressed his right elbow on the table, and rested his cheek on his palm. He had a dreamy girl smile on and an adorable twinkle in his eyes. I swallowed the lump in my throat and laughed nervously at the way he was looking at me.

"You are freaking me out, sir, can you cut it out?" I asked while shifting uncomfortably on the chair. He chuckled, a chuckle that made his eyes gleam more.

"I love it when you call me by my name, it makes me picture how it would sound from your lips as a scream." My eyes flew wider than they already had.

"Sir!"

"Call me Aaron or I won't answer you," he said sternly. I placed my hand on my chest as if I was finding it difficult to breathe.

Why was I overreacting? The man I had been harboring feelings for quite a long time was suddenly warming up to me when I decided to give up. Is anybody making sense out of this?
