Dreadful Feeling

Leo helped me drag the unconscious Mia inside Bastien’s house while Bastien and Ivan remained outside for a while. Knowing Bastien, I had a pretty good idea what it was that he was planning to tell Ivan.

“Help me lay her on the couch there,” I said to Leo as we got into the living room.

“What about Javier? We need to save him as soon as possible too,” Leo responded.

“Damn it, Leo. I have not forgotten about Javier, just help me get Mia to the damn couch,” I snapped.

He grumbled something and reluctantly helped me take Mia to the couch.

Earlier, I had told them that Mia collapsed back into a coma because she had used too much of her power to get us out of the reinforced cell in the dungeon and this was true but not the whole truth. I could sense a whole lot of Rylee’s magic hovering around my child.

It was this magic that kept her weak and made it so that she kept slipping back into a trance at any minor exhaustion. It was a miracle that Mia woke up when she did and helped us.
