Chapter 174

CLAIRE's POV

I stood by the side of the post office building, waiting for Luis to finish with posting the letter to Dominik. My eyes trailed my surroundings, looking for a source of entertainment.

For a small village, the whole streets were filled with people. There were stalls on each side of the street, selling mostly food and snacks. Curiously and since I had nothing better to do, I walked away from the building and into the crowd of people.

My eyes trailed each stall, but I soon zoned out into my thoughts. The last moments before I tossed Enzo out of window replayed in my head. He had this terrified look etched on his face. It was pitiful, but there was this strange feeling coursing through me.

I had felt no remorse for him and delighted in his suffering. He deserved it after all the things he had done to me after I had trusted him. And my father, I scoffed at the thought of him. I was ready to end his life there and then, but Luis had stopped me.
