I drew my head back at those words. Roman had said a lot of crazy things but telling me to break up with my boyfriend was something I had not expected.

“What? Why do you look so surprised? Do you want to continue seeing him?”

I opened and closed my mouth repeatedly, unable to answer. Was this the reason my mother suggested I always stay at home? Because of bad people who would always take advantage of your weakness? Roman happened to be one and I was unfortunate enough to run into him and have him like me.

I scoffed inwardly. He didn’t like me. He liked the idea of having me like I was an object. If he did like me, he wouldn’t treat me like this. I was about to speak when my phone started ringing. My eyes drifted to the screen and saw that it was Damon calling. Roman saw this too but he didn’t say anything.

I simply took hold of my phone, not answering the call. I wouldn’t know how to speak to him at the moment. When the call rang out, I looked back at Roman.
