Cassandra's POV

Part of me knew I couldn't do it. Tell him that I had a mate and all that stuff, but the other half of me preferred to get the guilt off of our shoulders. I woke up early on coronation day and just laid there doing nothing.

Not particularly nothing, I checked my emails and text messages, voice mails and even upgraded some apps in my phone. I knew my mother would come bursting through here any minute but I kind of liked it because it proved she was alive and healthy enough to make life frustrating for me. I heard the first cupboard bang and I sighed knowing I would soon be disturbed.

I burrowed deeper under the covers and I sighed tucking my phone into chest. I started devising methods of getting out of today's engagement but I knew deep down it was very unavoidable. My doors opened and someone came in. The curtains opened and light shone into the room.

"You need to get up, I know you're awake" my mom says and I close my eyes ignoring her.
