Starting over

The morning sun came through the windows early. There was no curtains to shade the morning light that woke Diane up early.

Diane rinsed off her face with her hands. She can’t believe everything that has happened this weekend. She grabbed her cellphone called Dave.

Dave saw Diane’s call. He was tempted to send her to voice mail but wanted to hear the dispel in her voice. After she kicked him out without anything and then slapped him. While she was out he took the opportunity to take west saw fit.

“Diane. Did you have a wonderful weekend with the western mad man.”

He voice didn’t was very cold.

“Were you at my apartment?”

“You mean our apartment; the one we built together.”

“You asshole; I need my stuff!”

Diane’s face was red as her temper rose.

“You grabbed me this weekend out of no where.”

Dave started to raise his voice.

“I came to tell you why I’ve been so tired. I started my own company..

“Yeah selling alcohol and sabotaging other companies”

“So Matt filled you in some. Huh he left out the underworld side of things. What I do time is none of your concern. The less you know the better. Don’t tell anyone anything about me.”

“Underworld! This isn’t a game Dave!”

Diane was thinking of the stupid video games he would play she worked. Not that she minded games but there a time and place.

“Well I’m too busy to play with you Diane. After you hit me we are done. I don’t want to see you again.”

“We were already done!”

Click. Dave hung up on her.

Diane sat on floor and calmed down. She didn’t love Dave but it still hurt to hear him be so cold. Diane was done with Dave but wished she could find out how his business happened. Dave hasn’t worked nor took Diane’s money. How did he start up business. Why would he care about her parents furniture? Did he take it just to hurt her?

Diane took a deep breath to forget these thoughts.

After calming down her emotions and thoughts, Diane called her boss Terri and told her part of the bad weekend she had including nothing at her home.

Terri was very confused on the phone call.

“Diane I’m so sorry and I think you should call the police. I’m off tomorrow and I can approve you another day. Why don’t you hit a hotel today and tomorrow we’ll go shopping for everything you need. I like to shop anyways. Plus I’ll bring some pepper spray for if we see Dave.”

It would be nice to not be alone after this weekend but Diane didn’t want to share the full details with anyone. She doesn’t want to share her weekend one night stand. She felt so dirty just thinking about it. So right but so wrong.

“I would rather not explain this to the police and have to deal with Dave anymore.. I would love the company tomorrow. I could really use a relaxing day. Maybe we can get some drinks too.”

Diane hung up the phone. Her mind drifted back off to Matthew. That night there was something they couldn’t deny. It was pure raw emotions but also something that pulled on Diane’s heart as if she belonged there. Maybe she should call him?

Diane argued with herself. She can’t called Matthew, she doesn’t even know him well. His company she missed. Even with the crazy events that happened, there was something pulling her to him.

Diane didn’t care about about his money. She had her own career. After her parents died she had to start over. She could do it again if needed. She knew very little about him but would see him this weekend. She back up her belongings and headed to the local hotel.

After settling in, Diane put her a red swimsuit and headed to the hotel’s hot tub. She was relaxing when she saw a familiar hot body. She wasn’t sure if she should be happy or angry. She wanted to be near Matthew but she was worried he was dangerous after showering up so soon.

Matthew confidently got in the hot tub beside her.
