Chapter 36: Mercy

Dante’s POV

I was glad I didn’t have to deal with the skanky she-wolves that are always after me at that charity auction every year. I felt a little bad that Celeste had to deal with them, but she seemed to handle it in stride.

The auction ended quite late and Celeste ended up falling asleep in my arms on the limo ride home, so I carried her up to her room and put her to bed before going to my room for the night. She was so beautiful and captivating and I couldn’t figure out why my wolf and I couldn’t stand to not be around her or near her. She was just like any other she-wolf, wasn’t she?

Could I be developing real feelings for her?

I needed to find out more about her before I ended up losing myself.
