Chapter 37: A Guest Has Arrived

Dante placed the palm of his hand on my cheek so gently that it caught me by surprise as I was trying to calm down and slow my tears. I looked up into his eyes, my eyes still filled with tears and red from the crying. He leaned into me, still staring intently into my eyes with those emerald beauties and before I realized it, he was softly pressing his lips to mine in the sweetest kiss yet.

He stroked my hair, pushing the strands out of my face before wrapping his arms around my body in a hug that exuded warmth and compassion.
