57. You Ruined Me

I stood outside and breathed in the cool air.

I was starting to calm down and the anger I felt earlier slowly dissipated. My insides knotted in guilt when I remembered Delilah's tear-soaked face. What have I done? All I ever wanted was to have someone who would love me for who I am. Instead, I made my wife into a prisoner, and now she claims to hate me. Everything was all wrong.

I didn't want to go inside the room right away, so I decided to take a long walk instead. I found a local pub that was still open and decided to go in for a drink instead.

I wanted to drink until my emotions became numb. I wanted the feeling of guilt to go away. I never liked to admit mistakes, but this time I took things too far. I almost forced myself on my own wife, for Christ's sake!

I have to go back and apologize.

I take a long swig of my drink and then head back to the hotel room.
