I wanted to cry so bad, but I could not even bring myself to do it. Yet another person who did not want me. My own mother gave me away without thinking twice.

I stared blankly at Inessa as she went on and on about our past, and it was only when she called my name loudly that I jerked back to present.

"Where did you go?" She asked me, rubbing my exposed arm in a comforting manner. I just smiled slowly, unable to quite get used to this side of my sister.

"I was here all along…"

"Was not." She retaliated, giving me the stink eye. I chuckled. "I should start the story over again. I was just telling you about the thing that led to me killing Ma's sister and you dare not pay attention?"

Well, how could I not pay attention to that now?

"Oh, I must have missed that. Tell me all about it."

And so she did. Inessa loved to tell stories, and I already knew that asking her to repeat herself would not be much of a problem; she was chatty like that.
