"Hello, please, is this Yvonne? Am I speaking with Yvonne?" That was the first sentence she made as I picked up the call. I bet she couldn't believe it was happening in reality—that I had called her after many weeks of hiatus.

"Of course, dear. This is Yvonne. Your very good friend," I responded, standing up from the bed to make sure no one was coming.

"Oh my goodness!" she exclaimed as she confirmed it was really me through my voice.

"What happened, dear? Why hadn't you been reachable for over two weeks?" she asked. "Even Mr. Thomas had been worried. He has also been trying your number, but it is not going through. He was even planning on visiting Moon Stone Pack to find out what the issue was, and why you had stayed longer than the agreed date. Even the extra week you mentioned you would stay in order to make sure all patients are fully recovered has passed, and this is a third week already," she remarked.

I sighed and dragged in a breath. "It's a long story, Amanda," I man
