169: Mommy Is Not Being Honest

Two Days Later.

I had returned from the hospital to my home. I and Amanda had not been able to talk as friends regarding the issue, which she had refused to let me know, saying it was a confidential talk.

To be honest, if not for all she had done for me, I would have asked her to leave my house to avoid what my instinct hinted at happening—to avoid her abducting my kids to Conan.

I rose to my feet and headed to the children's room in order to make sure they were okay. Upon arrival at their room, I was relieved to find out that they were comfortable sleeping.

I stared at the wall clock and realized it was already seven o'clock in the evening.

"They would be awake soon. I better go prepare dinner so they can eat immediately after they wake up from sleeping. I'm certain they will wake up soon," I muttered, heading to the kitchen.

Amanda had left the house in the afternoon to meet with her fiancé, according to her. Up until now, she has yet to return.
