Nala’s Point of View

“Change,” Hugo said seriously as we entered a room in the house that Lawrence had brought me to earlier.

I frowned. “Later. Lawrence and I need to talk,” I said, about to leave, but he pulled my sleeve.

His face darkened even more as he looked at the gown that I was still wearing. “You’re going to talk to him dressed like that?”

“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?”

“You can talk to him after you change your clothes, baby. I already allowed him to pick you up earlier even though I didn’t want to, but I knew you were in danger and I had no choice because his location is closer to you than mine. And I’m glad that you’re safe.”

Was he implying that he should have been the one to pick me up instead of Lawrence?

“Wait, have you been talking to Lawrence for a long time?” I asked, confused.

I didn’t see them talking before. I didn’t even introduce them to each other, so how did they become so close?

He sighed. "We'll talk about that later; just change first. That outfit
