CHAPTER 70: DEFENSELESS

Roman’s POV

We are a few meters away from the gallows, our men armed to the teeth, ready to go in with everything they have. I make sure to check if my gun is loaded and if I have a few extra bullets in my strap. There are other weapons in my holster too, such as blades and grenades.

From the corner of my eye, I see Caelen watch all of his with uncertainty in his eyes. He is no coward; I know for a fact that he wasn’t scared. He just didn’t think that Meredith was all of this.

That’s the difference between him and me.

She was worth more than any of this.

“Gather around men!” My voice instantly grasps all their attention as they await my orders.

“We are going in to take back what these bastards took from us, Meredith. You all know her. When we march in there, I want you to shoot down everything that moves apart from her. Do you understand?”

“Yes, alpha!” they say synonymously, and I nod once.

As I pull my mask down, they all do the same. “Let’s go.” I say this before getting into m
