CHAPTER 71: SAUL'S BLOOD

Amarie’s POV

"Sorry, love. But this is going to hurt you a lot more than it will hurt me.”

The nurse opens her mouth to scream, but I strike her square on the temple with my fists. Her body falls lightly to the floor, and I look around quickly to make sure no one has seen that.

I take her by her ankles and drag her into the nearest room, my senses alert for any sign of an unwanted audience.

Once I manage to get her into the room, I start to undress her. I quickly switch our dresses and make sure to shield my face with a nose mask and hair net. My gaze falls on the poor nurse. I may have hit a kitten too hard because now the side of her head is bleeding profusely.

I crouch down beside her and tap her bleeding head lightly. “Don’t worry, I just need your identity for a little while. In the meantime, I hope someone will find you soon. We don’t want you bleeding to death now, do we?” I place a finger on my chin, then shrug. “Not like I even care.”
