The first thing I feel is Loyalty lifting the side of her face off my chest. Then her soft hand caresses my cheek like the very first night she ever slept in my arms. I hear Spin yelling before I really register what’s going on. I’m wedged between the back of my sofa and Jonny’s warm firm chest. My first thought is Loyalty, as I jump from the bed and nearly stumble over the shoes she must have worn last night. They’re dropped on the floor next to her purse like she was in a rush to get to bed because she’s so OCD she would never have done that on purpose. I continued to her bedroom to find it empty. Spin wakes me the next morning, and I remind him that this Friday is Gabby’s DNA test and that I have to bring her to the Dutchess county court. He suggests that we head back upstate for the weekend and that Stephany, him, and I stay at the lake house together away from everyone else. I told him that I'd stay at the lake house, but only if my staff stayed with us. I even agree to sleep in the same room, as long as our daughter stays too and he finally accepts the deal I’m offering!Jonny is not happy with this arrangement but quickly drops it when everyone else comes into the kitchen. The staffing will be a little different since Melanie has the weekend off to attend her sister’s wedding. We’ll be taking Courtney in her place. Stephany’s DNA testing is Friday at the courthouse back upstate. I suggested to Loyalty that we stay at the lake house for the weekend, and after some negotiating she finally agreed.
